It was a warm and sunny autumn afternoon when we went to shoot Azure Ray. Maria and Orenda have a great chemistry together when photographing. They’re both so naturally beautiful our head photographer had no problem capturing the two artists in action.

The inspiration for Orenda’s photo shoot was soft and ethereal we also decided to draw upon some of the southern gothic inspirations from her latest album. We were also so lucky that on the day of the shoot we had the most beautiful periwinkle sky dotted with a slight overcast which created the perfect effect for the photos. We had the pleasure of having the entire day to shoot Orenda so we got to move to a few locations to really achieve the look we wanted.

Ben Gibbard and Jay Farrar’s show for the documentary, One Fast Move or I’m gone: Kerouac’s Big Sur, was truly spectacular. I really cannot stress what an amazing show their tribute concert was. With both artists it was clear that the show wasn’t themselves as individual musicians but rather respecting Jack Kerouac. Throughout the show you could truly see the passion, love, and respect that both artists had for the Kerouac.
