New MGMT Singles Showcase New Approach

Within the last week, not just one, two, singles (“Flash Delirium” and the title track “Congratulations”) have dropped from MGMT’s new endeavor Congratulations. Their new mellow vibe is being met with applause and critics alike.

“Congratulations” features an underlying acoustic guitar with a relentless beat that doesn’t overpower the track like the band’s usual hits. The mellow sound seems like kickback as opposed to “Electric Feel”‘s party mojo.

“Flash Delirium” channels less production and more hooks with no extremely catchy instrumentation. The Beach Boys-esque track features distinct harmony and somewhat nonsense lyrics.

The Standard Hotel

A poolside and bar on a rooftop, an electric organ, a lounge area with 1960s décor and pink couches, all of this may not seem like your typical hotel furnishings but, at the Standard Hotel in Downtown LA these unorthodox furnishings are merged into an eclectic, chic, and vintage setting.  It’s the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a hip but upscale hotel while you’re visiting Los Angeles.   And even if you’re a Southern California local the Standard Hotel has a rooftop bar with an amazing view and more of their unique sixties post modern décor.

Niche was lucky enough to shoot our upcoming Undrest bathing suit editorial on the rooftop at the poolside and bar.   It was a success thanks to everyone involved and the incredible location of the Standard Rooftop Bar.
