Robin Pecknold and Joanna Newsom: A Haunting Combination Too Far From Home

Most indie music fans hold an unwavering love for the indelible music that flows from Robin Pecknold of the Fleet Foxes and the utterly adorable, Joanna Newsom. Both musicians have carved nostalgic alcoves that separate them from fellow artists by bringing some unique sounds to the music world, even though that seems like a tough feat this day in age. However, the combination of the two folk creators seems like something we could only dream of.

The Supergroup Strikes Again!

Broken Bells. Heard of ’em? You actually probably have, even if unknowingly. The Shins’ James Mercer and Danger Mouse are joining forces for the highly-anticipated March 9 release of Broken Bells, their self-titled debut album. Although most fans downloaded the leaked album months ago, the release is gaining huge amounts of buzz being recognized as a fusion between the signature Danger Mouse funk and mellow Shins sound. In the fashion of Them Crooked Vultures and Audioslave, the term ‘supergroup’ lives on.

The Fall of the Fall of Troy

The Fall of Troy have announced that they will be breaking up at the end of their current tour.  Despite this devastating news we can expect them to pursue new projects.  Thomas Erak assures us he will continue to make music.  This does not have to be a tragedy, this could lead to brand new incredible sounds as they pursue different paths.  As for the Fall of Troy, their legacy will live on with their five full length albums.  Please do yourself a favor and check out TFoT on this last tour, you will not receive another opportunity.
