Robin Pecknold and Joanna Newsom: A Haunting Combination Too Far From Home
Most indie music fans hold an unwavering love for the indelible music that flows from Robin Pecknold of the Fleet Foxes and the utterly adorable, Joanna Newsom. Both musicians have carved nostalgic alcoves that separate them from fellow artists by bringing some unique sounds to the music world, even though that seems like a tough feat this day in age. However, the combination of the two folk creators seems like something we could only dream of.
Yet, it is really happening. A small window for musical ecstasy will be opened for 6 shows only in late March through April. Newsom will just be getting back into the States for her tour promoting her new album, ‘Have One on Me’, but unfortunately the Fleet Foxes are back in the studio with no concerts on the horizon. The opportunity to see both of them perform is incredible and will probably not happen again for some time to come. Sadly, all of these apex dates will be held far from our native Los Angeles. But, is witnessing Newsom on a cross-country tour with Pecknold, who may not be seen again for a while, worth the trek? Maybe, just maybe.
Make the Journey for these Dates:
03/28 Nashville, TN – Mercy Lounge
03/29 Columbus, OH – Southern Theatre
03/30 Cincinnati, OH – MusicNow Festival
03/31 Bloomington, IN – Buskirk-Chumley Theatre
04/02 Milwaukee, WI – Pabst Theater
04/03 Chicago, IL – Vic Theatre
