MGMT’s New Album!

It is finally here.

It has been three years since the release of their smash debut, and MGMT are streaming their highly anticipated second album, Congratulations, via their website. Listen to the tracks here!

Produced by Pete Kember , Congratulations is MGMT’s  journey into psychedelia, giving a view into their record collections, which obviously include Pink Floyd, the Zombies, T. Rex, the Kinks, and more. Frontman Andrew Vanwyngarden recently described the new album and its major influences: surfing and psychedelic drugs, a fact supported by Congratulations‘ quirky cover art.

The stream arrives a week after MGMT premiered Congratulations live with secret show at New York City’s Mercury Lounge. Did you miss it? See MGMT live at Coachella, Sasquatch!, and Bamboozle this spring.

Not bad, but I like it… and yes, Oracular Spectacular was better.

I have to say: Kinda disappointed by the album. Nothing except for the singles has stuck out yet even after hours of listening. Lame.
