Style Fashion Week hosted another posh event at the Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles last Wednesday night featuring designers Gypsy 05, Future Heretics, and a special performance by Cirque du Soleil.
The first designer to show their collection was Gypsy 05’s. It was a whimsical collection with very loose and flowing clothing. The color palette started with earthy greens and browns and progressed into some beautiful corals, pinks, and teals.
The entire collection had a very bohemian almost hippy nature theme to it. The models wore crimped hair and braids to truly add to the very 1970s bohemian feel of the collection. Probably the highlight of the collection was the two long dresses in blue and pink. The dresses draped the models perfectly and could easily be adapted from a day out at the beach to a red carpet.
Between the two shows Cirque du Soleil performed a segment from their upcoming show, Iris, in the Kodak Theatre. The upcoming show is supposed to be “a journey through the world of cinema.” Their performance at the event was a quirky but cute Tim Burton type of short.
The following line Future Heretics was a contrast to the bohemian nature themed Gypsy 05. It featured military wear with perfectly tailored jackets and lots of leather. The brand combined a sense of edginess with class. The collection had the ideal fall/ winter palette with blacks, grays and occasional splashes of purples and browns.
My favorite pieces were their perfectly tailored leather pencil skirts with sexy extra high cut slits. Also the brand featured an array of different leather gloves that will certainly be the quintessential accessory this coming fall and winter.
The event showcased a variety of styles for this coming fall from the boho-chic of Gypsy 05 to the urban military looks of Future Heretics.
