Sue Wong Presents “My Fair Lady” for Fall 2011 at LA Fashion Week

Ultra feminine dress designer Sue Wong previewed her Fall 2011 dress collection, “My Fair Lady”, this Friday at her personal residence, the classic Hollywood historic home, The Cedars. The Cedars was built by MGM in the 1920s, and features their signature lions perched throughout the home. Before Wong acquired the residence seven years ago, it was home to Johnny Depp and had been a rock palace for Bob Dylan and the Velvet Underground.

Niche attended the red carpet event as well as the cocktail party with the showing of the gowns.

Wong’s dresses are consistently romantic in style, blending intricate, traditional handwork and craftsmanship with classic, rather than trendy designs.

Models wandered throughout the house, stopping to pose on pedestals for photographers, wearing Wong’s signature gowns and extravagant hats, truly conveying the “My Fair Lady” theme. When asked what inspired her to use the Hepburn classic as the theme for her fall line, Wong said the film is one of her favorites and she believes it is the perfect medium to convey the romantic style of her line.
