Indie queen Zooey Deschanel has collaborated with “The Hills” producer Sophia Rossi and internet superstar Molly McAleer for a new female-friendly comedy site, www.HelloGiggles.com. Of the site, they said “We all met through mutual friends and just like to make each other laugh. We know there are tons of ladies who are just like us, so it just made sense to create a site where we can all meet up and know we’re going to find content that appeals to us.”
Certainly a refreshing comedy site, the ladies wanted to create something similar to Funny or Die, sans the sophomoric gross-out frat boy humor that tends to dominate internet comedy. Says Deschanel, “There’s a lot of dude comedy out there and not enough outlets for funny, creative girls, so my friends and I decided to build one.” The group promises “100% security that we weren’t going to be assaulted by unpleasant imagery or attitudes.”
Described by the women as “a mix of sketch comedy and intelligent, interesting writing”, the refreshing and hilarious site is sure to keep you procrastinating and giggling for hours.
